How to Test and Charge Your RAZR 40V Ice Auger Battery During the Summer

Keep your RAZR ice auger battery in top condition all year round with these tips.

A reliable and powerful battery is essential for a successful ice fishing experience. Whether you're just putting away your ice fishing gear for the season, or you simply want to ensure your RAZR 40V ice auger battery stays in top condition, here are some tips on how to test and charge it during the summer.

  1. Test the battery: Press the battery meter indicator button on the battery, or use a multimeter or voltage tester to check the voltage of your RAZR 40V ice auger battery. A fully charged battery should read between 36 and 40 volts. If the voltage is below this range, it may need to be charged.

  2. Charge the battery: If the battery needs charging, use the charger provided by RAZR and plug it into an outlet. Connect the battery to the charger and ensure that it is charging correctly. Allow the battery to charge fully before disconnecting it from the charger. The charging indicator light will turn from green to red when charging (this light is located on your charger).

  3. Check the charging status: During the charging process, keep an eye on the charging status indicator on the charger. Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator will change from red to green. If the indicator remains red, there may be an issue with the battery or charger. Often times you just need to ensure the battery is properly seated in the charger base so that the battery and charger pins make contact.

  4. Store the battery: Once the battery is fully charged, disconnect it from the charger and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Periodically check the battery during storage to ensure it retains its charge capacity.

  5. Maintain the battery: To maintain the battery's performance, it's recommended to charge it at least once every two months during the off-season. This will help prevent the battery from discharging and losing its capacity.

Taking the time to test and charge your RAZR 40V ice auger battery during the summer can help ensure it stays in top condition and is ready to use when you need it. Follow these tips and enjoy the reliable and powerful performance that RAZR ice augers are known for.
